Security

Security has been one of NTR's primary concerns throughout the development of NTRsupport. Our 256-bit AES encryption and strict security measures protect against unauthorized access to your data, programs and systems. In addition, NTRsupport does not require you to open ports, change your network or firewall configuration or modify NAT tables.
Security measures are implemented on three levels:
1. Secure Access
NTRsupport limits the access to all its utilities through logins and passwords. Administrators can select different access privileges and IP ranges for each operator. Passwords are stored encrypted and do not travel across the internet.

2. Secure Data Transfer
NTRsupport ensures total security by encoding data before transfer using the user’s password. NTRsupport uses strict security algorithms and offers an optional added security level for especially sensitive cases.

During remote control sessions, packets are sent and received via a TCP connection. Using the Rijndael Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm, packets are encoded before sending and when the session finishes no data remains.

3. Secure Data Storage
The data is also stored in the database in a coded form. Rapid decoding allows for instant retrieval when an administrator needs to consult the session data.

The Rijndael algorithm was chosen in 2000 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as the official Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Selecting the algorithm was a three year long process and involved 15 candidates. During the selection, NIST published the encryption formulas allowing others, including fellow competitors, to “attack” the formulas. The Rijndael algorithm was selected from the finalists as the “best combination of security, performance and efficiency".
